KODAK BATTERY
1. How do I change my depth of discharge on a Kodak/Mecer/Synapse inverter?
Step 1
On most of these inverters you need to hold in the enter button till the menu opens up on screen. (See snippet: Menu)
Step 2
Then using the down arrow key, scroll down to setting 12 (some models may differ). Setting 12 is called “Setting voltage point back toutility”. (See snippet: Setting 12)
Step 3
Push the enter button once and the voltage in setting 12 will start flashing.
Step 4
Using the up/down arrow keys, you can change the voltage of the battery to where you want to stop using battery (lowest percentage of battery).
Step 5
Once you set the voltage, you need to push the enter button once to set the setting.
OR
Step 1
Go to setting 13 (some models may differ). Setting 13 is called “Setting voltage point back to battery”. (See snippet: Setting 13)
Step 2
Same procedure to change this voltage as setting 12, this setting lets the inverter start using battery again once the voltage is reached from charging whether from solar or grid.

2. How to restart a Kodak/Mecer/Synapse inverter:
Step 1
*All these switches should be by the inverter or in your main board house.
Switch changeover switch to Eskom so that there is no load from appliances on the inverter. (See snippet: Profile)
Step 2
Once this is done you need to shut off the “Feed Inverter” breaker (also called 220v inv supply).
Step 3
Also need to switch off the 220v inv return breaker (also called mains or load breaker).
Step 4
Shut off your solar panels with the PV isolator breaker in the DC combiner DB next to the inverter.
Step 5
Next you need to switch off the inverter by the power button. Usually it’s a silver round button under the screen. When you push it, it should pop out. Wait until the inverter switches off.
Step 6
You can now switch off the batteries. (Refer to battery section for different types of batteries).

3. How to restart the whole system:
Step 1
First switch on the battery.
Step 2
Switch on the on/off button of inverter. The inverter will start up it just takes a few seconds.
Step 3
Once inverter is on, you can switch on the feed to breaker (also called 220v inv supply).
Step 4
Switch on the 220v inverter return breaker (also called inv mains or load breaker).
Step 5
Then you can switch on the DC isolator in the DC combiner box to connect solar.
Step 6
After this you can switch the changeover switch back to inverter (solar supply).
5. How to switch on/off the Sunsynk battery?
You will need to wait for Eskom to come back on to start charging the batteries or til the sun comes up in the morning so that the solar can start charging the batteries.
If the only power source is your solar, then the inverter will charge your batteries to about 40 percent before the inverter will switch on and and give your house power.
If this does not happen, you will also have to do a system restart. Please refer to HOW TO RESTART KODAK/MECER/SYNAPSE INEVRTER.
