Sunsynk Inverter

SUNSYNK INVERTER

1. If you can’t remember your password (Sunsynk App):

Sunsynk App

Click on Sunsynk App. Look on your phone home screen for the Sunsynk App icon.

Click on “Forgot password?” at the bottom right-hand side and follow the prompts to reset your password. (See snippet:  Login)

Fill in your email adress in the “Email” fields. (See snippet: Forgot Password)

Click on the “Get Code” for a verification code. A code will be sent to the email address you have inserted. Please type the code into the space provided next to the “Get Code” button. (See snippet: Forgot Password)

Type in your new pssword in the “Password” field, as well as again in the “Confirm Password” field. (See snippet: Forgot Password)

Once these steps have been completed, you will be redirected to the Login-in Page and you can log in with your new password. (See snippet: Forgot Password)

2. How do I change my depth of discharge on a Sunsynk inverter?

On a Sunsynk App:

Open the Sunsynk App and click on your solar profile.

Click on "Equipment", the second option, at the bottom of your screen bext to "Overview".

You will se the inverter serial number and menu (...) at the top right-hand corner. Click on the menu (...).

Then click "Settings" at the bottom of the screen and the settings page will open.

Then click on "System Mode" - the second option on your screen.

Sunsynk Use Timer

"Use Timer" must be on to set the battery percentages. make sure to enable it. Then there are 6 timers where you can set the battery percentage you desire. Example: If you set the percentage to 40, you will then use up to 60 percent of the battery.

The percentage will have to be set in all 6 time periods, you will see each time period has a start time and an end time.

Sunsynk Grid Charge

In each time period you can also tick “Grid Charge” if you want Eskom to charge the battery. If "Grid Charge" is ticked you need to set the percentage of the battery when you want Eskom to stop charging the battery. Example: Setting the battery to80 percent; if the battery is lower than 80 percent in that time period, then Eskom will charge the battery until it eaches 80 percent.

Once you have set up all battery percentages, you need to click "Save" at the top right-hand corner of your screen to save your settings.

Open the Sunsynk App and click on your solar profile. (See snippet: Profile)

3. How to restart a Sunsynk inverter?

Switch changeover switch to Eskom so that there is no load from appliances on the inverter. (See snippet: Changeover)

Shut off the “Feed Inverter”, breaker (also called 220v inv supply). (See snippet: Feed Inverter)

Switch off 220v inv return breaker (also called inv mains or load breaker). All these switches should be by the inverter or on your main board in the house. (See snippet: Main Switch)

Switch off the DC switch on the inverter, this will switch off your solar panels. (See snippet: DC Switch)

Once your solar is off, you can puch the on/off button on the inverter. This will either be on the side of the inverter or at the bottom of the inverter depending on the model. Now you will have to wait for the inverter to shut down, this can take a few seconds or up to a minute. (See snippet: On/Off) 

Once the inverter is off you can shut down the battery (refer to how to switch on/off battery section).

Now that the whole system has been shut down, you can restart the inverter.

First switch the battery on (refer to how to switch on/off battery section).

Once the normal light above the inverter screen switches on, you can then proceed to switch on the “Feed Inverter” breaker (also known as the 220v inv supply). (See snippet: Feed Inverter + Light)

Switch on the 220v inv return breaker (also called inv mains or load breaker). You will need to wait for the grid to connect to the inverter which takes about a minute. (See snippet: Main Switch)

Then you can switch on the DC switch to return to the solar. (See snippet: DC Switch)

Finally switch the changeover switch back to the inverter (solar supply). When switching the changeover switch, please make sure you have all the computers off as the power will switch off for a second. Also, switch off all big loads in the house. (See snippet: Changeover)

4. How to switch on/off the Sunsynk battery?

To switch on/off the Sunsynk battery, there is an on/off switch near the battery terminals which needs to be switched on. (See snippet)

Push the round silver button on the front of the battery, and hold it down for about 3 seconds until the lights go on at the front of the panel. Let go of the button. (See snippet)

If there are multiple batteries, you need to switch on all the on/off switches on all of the batteries. Then you need to push and hold the round silver button on the master battery for about 3 seconds. The master battery and all other batteries will switch on.

Then push the round silver button on the front of the battery and on the master battery for 3 seconds. The master battery and all other batteries will switch on. To switch off the batteries, push and hold the round silver button on the master battery for 3 seconds and all the batteries will switch off.

5. If your battery goes flat

For the Sunsynk inverters, you will need to wait for Eskom power come back on start charging batteries or till sun comes up in morning so that solar can batteries. 

If the only power source is your solar, then inverter will charge batteries to about 40 percent before switch on and give house power. 

If Eskom power is on and the inverter does not want to give you power, then will have do a restart system. Please refer section: HOW TO RESTART A SUNSYNK INVERTER.
